Lucy Ellen Hasheider

Lucy Ellen Hasheider, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was born on November 2, 1932, the daughter of Elsie (Werner) and Robert Fuchs in Rock Springs.

Lucy lived in the Town of Troy until age 9, when she moved to Flat Rock, Ohio. After graduating from Thompson Township High School in Bellevue, Ohio in 1950, she moved back to Wisconsin where she met the love of her life, Merle Hasheider, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk. Lucy and Merle were joined in marriage on December 12, 1953. Lucy and Merle farmed for many years and raised five children. Her employment ranged from working on the farm, Badger Army Ammunition Plant, Skyview Motel, and waitressing at various restaurants over the years, and most recently, Hasheider Roofing & Siding for the past 21 years. Lucy enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with Merle and many dear friends. She had a love for life and people, and particularly enjoyed crafting, playing cards, bingo, casinos, and most of all, time spent with family. Lucy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Her kind ways and smiles have touched the lives of many, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Laure (Fuchs) Pagel, brother John Fuchs Sr., half-brothers, Herman Fuchs, Edward Fuchs and Charles Fuchs.

Lucy is survived by her husband Merle; sister Inez (Fuchs) Dendinger of Bellevue, Ohio; children Ricky Hasheider (Cathy Gibson), Bradley Hasheider (Lisa), Kevin Hasheider (Stacy), Wesley Hasheider (Monica), and Sheila Hasheider, all of Sauk City / Prairie du Sac; grandchildren, Brian, Greg, Heather, Tyler, Cody, Daniele, Dakota, Kassie, Dylan and Sierra Hasheider; great-grandchildren Joey and Chloe; her niece Lorene Sprecher; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at BETHLEHEM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Black Hawk, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 with Pastor Kendall Schlittler officiating. Burial will follow in Black Hawk Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
