Lorraine E. (Macke) Riechers, 99, of Platteville, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022. Funeral services will be at Noon, Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Gus Barnes will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Lorraine was born on March 15, 1923 to Maynard and Elma Macke on her family’s farm in Lancaster, Wisconsin. On March 18, 1943, she married Leo H. Riechers and moved to his farm in Elk Grove Township near Belmont, Wisconsin. Lorraine loved her life as a farm wife and mother. She also loved music, serving as an organist at her church for almost 50 years. She was a 4-H leader for many years for the Pleasant View 4-H Club and as an avid baker, sewer and quilter, she continued to make quilts and other decorative sewing projects throughout her entire life.

Lorraine is survived by her four children: Karen (Steve) Oba, Douglas (MaryJo) Riechers, Jane Stanton, Richard (Cheryl Spivey) Riechers and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Riechers; Seven grandchildren, Trent (Sarah) Oba, Alice (Dave Clark) Riechers, Erin Riechers, Joshua Riechers, Jason (Brandi) Riechers, Scott (Bethany) Riechers and Angela Riechers; eight great-grandchildren, Trent and Emi Oba, Lainey, Kaci and Lexi Riechers, Hayden Hutchins, Charles and Gwendolyn Clark, and two step-great-grandchildren, Delaney and Tessa Kamps; one sister, Joann Schrader; brother-in-law, Robert Pitts; sister-in-law, Wanda Riechers and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, ,husband, Leo in 2002, grandson, Brandon Oba in 1995, and sister, Doris Pitts in 2020.
