Lon Earl Michener

Madison-Lon E. Michener, age 73, formerly of Golden Valley, MN and Sioux Falls, SD, died on August 26, 2017 in Madison, WI.

He was a renaissance man who loved classical music, gardening, metal sculpting, fishing, downhill skiing, motorcycling, traveling and birdwatching. Lon was a skilled welder and jack of all trades. One of his favorite sayings was, “do good work.” He was funny and gregarious. He was especially proud of his son, Blake and his wife, Nicole.

Lon is survived by his wife, Diane Michener; son, Blake (Nicole) Michener; sister-in-law, June Michener; nieces and nephews and Tucker the cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Betty Michener his brother, Mike Michener and sister, Judy (Michener) Steffen.
