Lois M. Cass

BARABOO-Lois Marguerette (Meyers) Cass, age 89, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012.
She was born on May 21, 1922, in Baraboo, one of 12 children, the daughter of Roy and Ida (Zimmerly) Meyers.
Lois attended St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School and Baraboo High School, graduating in 1941. She married Lawrence L. Cass, Jr., the son of Lawrence and Hattie (LaRock) Cass, on Sept. 6, 1942, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. This union produced three children, Jimmy, Sandra, and Craig. Lois was a full-time homemaker when her children were home, and later she worked for UW Student Housing. She lived in Madison for more than 67 years, moving to Lake Delton in 2009. Lois was very caring. Everyone who came in contact with her, loved her. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening, planning trips, and she was an avid reader.
Lois is survived by three children, Jimmy (Kathy) of Cambridge, Sandra of Lake Delton, and Craig of Madison; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Audrey Parker and Joyce (Charles) Hamilton of Baraboo; five brothers, Roy (Betty) of Baraboo, Curtis of Adams, Dean (Ann) of Delta, Utah, Wayne (Nancy) of Lake Delton, and Gerald of Fall River; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; one great-grandson; three brothers, Virgil, Edwin, and Duane; one sister, Arphalyne; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012, with the Rev. Timothy Hansen presiding.
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
