Lodi Police Department to host ‘Bicycle Rodeo’ for all ages

Bicycling.com recommends taking a bicycle out for a test ride before purchasing it as well as making sure you have a comfortable seat and are acclimated to the brakes. It’s also important to wear a well-fitting helmet and to bike with a partner whenever possible. Nolan Hyland, a personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), also suggests scoping out good locations for cycling that are away from busy streets. “There’s all kinds of good forums available online for cyclers,” Hyland says.
LODI, Wis. — The Lodi Police Department is celebrating bicyclists this weekend.
The department will host a “Bicycle Rodeo” at St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is free and open to all ages.
Attendees can learn about bicycle safety, challenge themselves in an obstacle course, and ensure that they have a safe and well-fitting helmet. Bicycle license plates will also be on offer as well as special “driver’s licenses.”
There will be a limited number of used bicycles and helmets for attendees to use, and Lodi EMS will also be giving away new helmets.
