Local roller derby team partners with DOT
Campaign will feature commercial with Mad Rollin' Dolls

MADISON, Wis. — Members of Madison’s roller derby team, the Mad Rollin’ Dolls, are getting in on a new effort to stop drunken driving across the state.
Mad Rollin’ Dolls are all about crashes when they’re skating, but the team’s members have other full-time jobs, and for some, that’s why they’ve partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for its Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
“My job is the adult injury prevention coordinator at UW Hospital and Clinics, where specifically I work with our trauma surgeons who have to deal with the consequences of drunk driving every day,” Mad Rollin’ Dolls member Becky Turpin said. “We appreciate the Department of Transportation partnering with community partners like the Mad Rollin’ Dolls, because we realize partnerships like this are really the only way we will achieve zero deaths in Wisconsin.”
The campaign starts on Friday and runs through Sept. 1.
