Local breweries hold beer festival to support Ukrainians
MADISON, Wis. — Madison area breweries raised the bar Sunday to support Ukraine.
Local brewers crafted five beers to give Madisonians a taste of Ukraine, following a request from a Ukrainian brewery. Multiple Ukrainians attended the event and said it helped them remember their home.
“Seeing all these flags around and seeing people taste Ukrainian beer here is amazing,” Ulyana Khaba said.
The beers were crafted using materials and techniques provided by Ukrainian brewer Pravda.
“We may be in different geographical locations, but our souls are in the same place,” brewmaster Kirby Nelson said.
The money raised from Sunday’s event will benefit Ukrainian relief efforts.
