Loaded handgun recovered from underage drinking party, police say

Madison police recovered a loaded handgun from an underage drinking party Saturday night.

According to police, officers responded to a clubhouse in a west side apartment complex on Morraine View Drive. Police said that when they arrived, more than 50 juveniles ran in different directions.

Police found a loaded handgun, along with alcohol bottles, cups and a broken table. A clubhouse window was also damaged.

According to police, a teenage boy told them that the party had been advertised on Facebook. A 14-year-old girl was cited for underage drinking.
