Lindner leaps to new heights

Prep Mania Game of the Week winter schedule released

Sun Prairie senior Tierney Lindner continued to impress Friday at the Big Eight conference meet in Verona. The high jumper cleared a personal best 5’10” to win the event.

Lindner will attend Nebraska next fall on a track scholarship.

Her sister, Tessa, swims at Seton Hall. She has taught Tierney how much work it takes to compete at the college level.

“She’s really shown me what an athlete is. She works her butt off every single day, and it shows. She’s been swimming out of her mind. It pushes me to want to work harder, because it shows me one day it’ll pay off.”

Tierney has improved a lot since she began jumping four years ago; and she has worked hard to teach the youth about hard work, too.

Lindner has coached the youth track program during her summers in Sun Prairie. She says seeing the smiles of the kids make all the time spent coaching worth while.

“It’s just an amazing feeling that you helped him get to that, or helped them get to who they are today.”

Lindner hopes to defend her state high jump championship at state in June.
