Lewis “Wayne” Chisholm

MADISON-L. Wayne Chisholm, age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Madison of heart failure. Wayne was born on Dec. 26, 1932 in Natick, Mass. the son of Frances King and Donald N. Chisholm. Wayne graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Wayne attended college at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana studying Civil Engineering.

He was married to the late Janeen C. Sittler on Dec. 21, 1957, and had four children: David, Patricia Landphier (Gary), Donald (Robin), and Sandra Schwartzer (fiancé Gary Clark). Wayne married Darling D. Haefner on March 17, 1978, with two children: Brian (Tanya) and Jenny. Wayne was very passionate about the Marines, fishing, cooking, good food, western movies and loving his family.

He is survived by his children; his former wife, Darling; seven grandchildren; his brother, King; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife Janeen; and sister-in-law, Arlene Chisholm. A Memorial Visitation with military honors will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME,5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held following the service at the VFW #7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, WI. 53716.

A Memorial Visitation with military honors will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME,5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held following the service at the VFW #7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, WI. 53716.
