Leonard R. Grischow

Leonard R. Grischow, 77, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home.
Leonard was born on February 25, 1940 in Oak Park, IL. He was the son of the late George and Alice (Finke) Grischow. Later, he married Lois Yanus on October 15, 1960 in Cicero, IL. Soon after, they moved to Fort Atkinson, WI and started a dairy farm.
Leonard enjoyed spending time outdoors. While he loved hunting and fishing, his lawn and garden were his pride and joy. Leonard also enjoyed watching his two favorite sports teams, the Packers and the Cubs, and was very thrilled when the Cubs won the World Series. He will be remembered for being a loving husband to his wife and a great father to his children and grandchildren.
Leonard is survived by his wife Lois of Fort Atkinson; children, Debbie (Woody) Pierce of Janesville, Robert (Gayle Birr) Grischow of Coleman, Garland (Kathryn) Grischow of Milton, Matthew (Renee) Grischow of Fort Atkinson, Bonnie (Rich) Addie of Milton, Susan Grischow of Milton, and Ronald (Jeanette) Grischow of Whitewater; 21 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Howard Grischow, Vern (Eunice) Grischow and Rhienhard (Marilyn) Grischow; sisters, Lorraine (Jerry) Backus, Florence Smith and Lois (Jack) Gomes and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Orland Grischow.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the First Congregational Church, 31 W. Milwaukee Avenue in Fort Atkinson with Pastor Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Friday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
