Leonard P. Power

Leonard (Len) Power, age 87, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday July 15, 2017. He was born December 31, 1929 to Patrick and Regina (Demby) Power.

Leonard served in the army from 1952 to 1954 and was honorably discharged. Leonard was employed as a truck driver for a variety of the local trucking firms.

Leonard married Myrtle Breunig at St Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City on October 20, 1956.

He was blessed with four children, Joe (Phyllis) Power, Richard Power, Geri (Rick) Sorenson, Judy (Mern) Butson. He adored his nine grandchildren Jacob, Patrick, Matt (deceased), Melanie, Sarah (Brad), Brenda (Matt), Brad, Nicole, Cole and six great grandchildren Damien, Faith, Derek, Ethan, Bailey, Lola.

He is survived by his wife, 4 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and their spouses, 6 great grandchildren, siblings and in-laws, Esther Handell, Ray Power, Theresa Russell, James(Sue) Power, Margie Breunig, Ethel (Harold) Opitz, Audry Speth, Ralph (Joanie) Breunig, Darlene (Jack) Kliest, Ken Breunig, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and in-laws, Regina (Robert) Colden, Frances (Victor) Marty, Lucille (Lee) Kirch, Arlene (Glen-Bud) Sheldon, Thomas Handell, Marlys Power, George Jr. Russell, Martha Breunig , Don Breunig, Ruth (Paul) Pulvermacher, Arnold Speth, Kathy Breunig, grandson Matt, nieces and nephews.

Leonard and the family would like to thank Dr. Heun and staff, Prairie Clinic – Valerie Clary, FNP and staff, The Home Health United Team, Hospice House staff, Ballweg Pharmacy and staff for the love, kind words, professionalism and the dedication to their profession. You have made the world a much better place and Leonard was able to pass away on his terms.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House Baraboo Fund.

Visitation will be at Hooverson Funeral Home – Sauk City, Wednesday July 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday July 20 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church – Sauk City.
