Leon Orcutt

ARENA/LODI/MADISON/SUN PRAIRIE- Leon Orcutt, age 89, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare.

He was born on April 19, 1926, in Arena, Wis., the son of Fay and Mamie (Barto) Orcutt. Leon married the love of his life, Ruth Merz, on Sept. 21, 1968, at Bethel Lutheran Church and they spent almost 50 wonderful years together until her death in 2007.

Leon was very proud to be a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He was very grateful to have had the privilege of attending the Badger Honor flight with his son William. It was an incredible experience for all, especially his great-granddaughter, Faith. Leon is survived by his son, William (Linda) Merz; two grandsons, George Alan and Denver (Theresa) Merz; his precious great-granddaughter, Faith Merz; sisters, Audrey Chitek and Sandra Powers; sister-in-law, Loraine Sherman; and nieces, Bonnie Walton and Cathy (Tom) Scheeler. Private services will be held.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Lighthouse, especially Katie, Tulu, and Ai-Win for their incredible care of Leon and also the nurses and staff at Agrace HospiceCare.
