Leibham deciding whether to seek primary recount

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — State Sen. Joe Leibham says he has not yet decided whether to request a recount in the close Republican primary for Wisconsin’s lone open congressional seat.
Official results posted Wednesday show state Sen. Glenn Grothman with a 219-vote lead over Leibham in the four-way race.
The winner will face Democrat Mark Harris in the November election to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Tom Petri in the Republican-leaning 6th Congressional District.
Leibham has three days to request a recount. He says in a statement that his team will review the official results and decide quickly how to move forward.
The board that oversees Wisconsin elections met with county clerks Thursday to plan for a recount if one is requested. There are no automatic recounts in Wisconsin.
