Law enforcement memorial outside Capitol vandalized

MADISON, Wis. — The law enforcement memorial monument outside the Capitol was vandalized during the night last night, with writing spelling out “#Justice4AnthonySmith.”
The writing references the St. Louis riots that followed the acquittal of former police officer Jason Stockley in the 2011 shooting of Anthony Lamar Smith.
Capitol Police are investigating the incident and facilities will clean the memorial as soon as possible.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call 608-266-8797.
