Lavern M Ballweg

Lavern M. Ballweg, age 92, passed away peacefully Oct. 10, 2022 at Homestead Living in Waunakee. He was born at home in Springfield Corners area on March 7, 1930 to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Laufenberg) Ballweg. He grew up and attended St. Martins Catholic School in Martinsville. Lavern worked for the Roxbury Sanitary District for 30 years and as the Roxbury Township Town Patrolman for 52 years, mostly looking forward to operating the road grader. He was united in marriage to Maxine Heyroth in June of 1953, and later Monica Reeves in August of 1978. Lavern enjoyed the Midget Racing at Angel Park Speedway, bullhead fishing, playing guitar, and time spent with family.

He is survived by his three children; son, Doug and Myra and their family, Brian (Teri Henn) and Allison and Lillian; Brent (Angel) and Kyle (Amara), Krysta and Kaylen; Sarah (Matt) Reich and Riley; son, Randy Ballweg; and son, Troy (Jackie Johnson) Ballweg, and their family, Tori (Brian) Welch and Jamie (Kyle) Pierce; 5 sisters, Carol (Don) Acker, Phyllis (Milo) Breunig, Patricia Jessing, Lois Krantz and Sharon Ballweg; sisters and brothers in-law, Kathy A. Ballweg, Kathy M. Ballweg, Marilyn Ballweg, Darlene Ballweg, Alice Ballweg, Marv Hellenbrand, Romie Ripp, Donald Heyroth. Lavern is further survived by countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, along with a good friend and neighbor Richard Fassbender.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Monica and the mother of his children, Maxine Heyroth; brothers, Danny, Roger, Melvin, Wilford, Martin, Clarence; sisters, Marjorie Ripp, Lucille Ballweg, Marlene Hellenbrand and brother in-law, Roger Heyroth.

A private Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18th, 2022 at St. Christopher Catholic Parish, 301 Main St., Verona. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Lavern’s family wishes to express their graditude to the caregivers at Girlies Manor-Cross Plains, Homestead Living, Agrace Hospice for their care of Lavern.
