Lancaster JV basketball team raises money to fight epilepsy

Lancaster’s junior varsity reserve boys basketball team is raising money for a cause they’re all too familiar with.

The school’s sophomore class has four kids who have been diagnosed with epilepsy, out of the 80 total students.

The basketball team decided to ask its community to donate $1 for every win. That money will go toward Moms with a Mission, a group of Lancaster parents who are fighting back against epilepsy.

So far, the boys have raised $93 for each of their nine wins, which is nearly $1,000.

“If we use those wins for something good, then something good can come out of it and we can play for something more than the win,” sophomore Evan Straka said.
