La Crosse man sentenced for killing wife in front of children

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A La Crosse man convicted of stabbing his wife to death in front of five children could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
A judge sentenced 36-year-old Haron Joyner to life in prison Friday.
In December, a jury found Joyner guilty of stabbing his wife, Jessica, multiple times in front of a group of children between the ages of 5 and 11 during an argument at their home on Fifth Avenue in La Crosse.
Joyner’s attorney argued the stabbing was a split-second act of emotion and not a deliberate attack.
Joyner will be eligible for parole in 40 years.
