A Madison girl may only be in kindergarten, but she’s already got big plans for college.

Courtney Abbott goes to Madison’s Glenn Stephens Elementary School, but thanks to Pizza Hut’s BookIt program, she already has $30,000 for college.

Abbott read 20 books a month for six months as part of Pizza Hut’s 30-year celebration program. Then she was randomly picked as the winner of the program.

“It was a lot of work for her and a little bit for us. It was still unbelievable that we won this,” Abbott’s mom, Ashley Abbott, said.

The BookIt program is the longest running literacy program for kids in the U.S. and has helped more than 90 million students.
