Kenneth Elroy Timpel

Kenneth Elroy Timpel

MADISON/DEERFIELD/MARSHALL-Kenneth Elroy Timpel left his earthly home on May 28, 2012. He is at peace in his heavenly home. Ken was the first born of the late Rudolph and Hildegarde Timpel arriving in Milwaukee on December 18, 1936.

Ken leaves behind the stranglehold of vision and cognition challenges, as well as Parkinson and cancer issues. While we are crushed by the weight of his departure, our hearts know the love and light he leaves with us. This proud grandpa led a rich life that included being a devoted Marine and public servant, a salt-of-the-earth farmer, a 30+ gallon Red Cross blood donor, and most of all a man of integrity. As a CPA, his professional life experience included budget and fiscal management, tax accounting, and auditing. He was a quiet, sensitive man with an immense presence and a kind heart.

Those loving him from this side include his wife Cheri and their children; David, Dan (Kim) and their children Tiffany, Gustav, and Maxwell; Karen (Rick) Sozio and their children Danielle, Ethan, Jordan, and Natalie; Darla Nielsen; and Lisa (Greg) Nielsen Agnew and their children Drew and Miller. Ken is further survived by his sister Darlene Umhoefer, his brother Donald (Jean), many cherished nieces, nephews, and in-laws, and Sharon Essmann, the mother of David, Dan, and Karen.

Funeral services will be held at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2165 Linden Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012. Burial will be at Medina Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Avenue, Monona, from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, as well as from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.
