Kelly, Stricker in contention at PGA Championship

Madison golfers Jerry Kelly and Steve Stricker are off to good starts after the first round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky Thursday.

Kelly had six birdies on his way to a round of four-under-par 67, putting him in a tie for ninth place.

Stricker also had six birdies as he shot two-under 69 which has him tied for 20th.

Lee Westwood, Kevin Chappell and Ryan Palmer lead the PGA Championship all at six under par.

Jim Furyk, Eduardo Molinari, Henrik Stenson, Rory McIlroy and Chris Wood are all tied for fourth at  -5.

Tiger Woods was able to complete his round recovering from his back injury, but struggled to a three-over par 74.
