Kathleen Reinfried-Ganshert

MADISON-Kathleen Reinfried-Ganshert passed away on Jan. 14, 2016, at the Attic Angel Health Center in Middleton, at the age of 91.

Kathleen was born on June 11, 1924, the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph Sweeney. She was a graduate of East High School in Madison. Her brother, Joseph (Jackie) Sweeney and sister, Pat (Bill) Frank preceded her in death but provided Kathy many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was married to Dr. William Reinfried who preceded her in death in 1991. They had two children, Carole (Ken) Barnhart of Astoria, Ore., and Robert (Maureen) Reinfried, who also preceded her in death in 2013. Kathleen was grandmother to Kevin Barnhart, Matthew Barnhart and Bradley Barnhart as well as Erika Mitchen and Derek Reinfried, and great grandmother to Avery Barnhart, Myah Barnhart, Mason Mitchen and Adela Mitchen. Kathleen married Peter Ganshert in 1993. Pete preceded her in death (2008) but left a beautiful extended family – Dave (Mary) Ganshert, Julie (Rich) Selin, Paul (Betsy) Ganshert and six more grandchildren.

A burial service will occur at 11 a.m. Jan. 19, 2016, at RESURRECTION CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 2705 Regent St. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
