Karen Jean Fish
Karen Jean Fish (Holmes) passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022, at the age of 82. She was born on a farm in Mifflin, WI, on June 19, 1940, to Ernest and Geneva Holmes. She was a nurse for many years at Mendota Mental Health Institution where she made many long-time friends. After retirement she moved to Ixonia, WI to be closer to her sisters.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Wiedenbeck (Fish) and Susan Fish Peterson; grandchildren, Eric Fish, Lisa (Joe) Anderson, Mollie (Casey) Jesberger, Katie Wiedenbeck, Brianne Peterson and Natalie Peterson; great grandchildren, Carson, Selah, Kaeson and Elias; sisters, Mary Porter, Janice (Don) Miller and Joan (John) Connors; brothers, Jerry Holmes and Roger Holmes; daughter-in-law, Lynne (Larry) Fish, and numerous family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Kevin Fish; brother, Leroy Holmes; sister, Delores Lynch; and the father that raised her, Gilbert McCabe.
In respect for her wishes, there will be no services. Private interment will be on September 23, 2022. Donations to Dane County Mental Health, Substances Abuse, Suicide Prevention in her name would be appreciated.
