Judith “Judy” (Klinkmann) Sorrick

Judy Sorrick

Judith “Judy” (Klinkmann) Sorrick, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at home. She was born to Frederick and Mary Klinkmann on May 1, 1938, in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Judy attended Lake Forest High School, graduating in 1956 and then went onto attend Beloit College. One of her first majors was in music, she was and exceptional pianist and accordion player. She played piano all her life until she was unable to. After graduating Judy worked for the Bell System Telephone Company, where she was awarded in sales excellence many times. Later she worked for the Madison Public School System and part time at the library.

Judy met the love of her life Robert “Bob” at the Wagon Wheel Resort in Rockton, IL, where they were both talented ice dancing figure skaters. They married in 1966, had a son in 1968, and in 1967 built their dream home where they both lived out their entire lives. Judy became an accomplished skier that was the main family sport. Later Judy and Bob enjoyed tennis, that was their passion for the rest of their active lives, and they were exceptionally good. Judy and her tennis team won many tournaments and Bob was no slouch either. She was also an incredibly talented seamstress, would design outfits and even worked at an arts and crafts store part time for fun.

Later Judy was afflicted with Parkinson’s which slowly took away all her tremendous abilities and made her a prisoner in her own body. She was a very strong-willed woman to endure the years of immobility. Judy was so blessed to have all the terrific caregivers which allowed her to keep her dignity through it all and made it so that she was often still able to smile.
She did so many other things for people, too many to mention. Judy was a truly amazing person.
