Joy L. Rublee, age 100, died on Monday, January 11, 2016 at At Home Again in Columbus where she was a resident for the past four years. She was born on August 24, 1915 in Columbus to William and Edith (Weber) Gruhn.

Joy was married to Wilbur Lang in November of 1933 in Columbus. She was later married to Charles Rublee in November of 1946 in DeForest. She was employed at Ray-o-vac in Madison before working for Boeing in Seattle for six years. She also worked at AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors in Oak Creek. Joy loved to travel and was a member of the Olivet Congregational U.C.C. and member of it’s memorial committee.

Survivors include her son, Philip (Dorothy) Lang of Columbus, five grandchildren: Rolf (Sherry) Lang of Columbus, David (Jean) Lang of Watertown, Michael (Colleen) Lang of Columbus, Paul (Kim) Lang of Fall River, Patrick (Tracy) Lang of Columbus; eleven great grandchildren: Chelsea (fiance’ Patrick Farrington) Lang, Colin, Erin, Keegan, Maggie, Riley and Brinley Lang, Taylor and Taryn Lang, Brady and Drew Lang; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur in 1971, husband Charles Rublee in 1986, and sister Dorothy Luey.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the OLIVET CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Columbus. Pastor Beth Voigt will officiate. Inurnment will be in Norway Grove Cemetery, DeForest. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
