Joseph Pilsner

MADISON-Joseph Pilsner, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, after a long illness.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1928, in Marshfield, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Hentges) Pilsner. He married Vernita Kille on Sept. 3, 1949, at Sacred Heart in Marshfield. Joseph graduated from Marshfield High School in 1947. He was a Montgomery Ward store manager and district manager in several cities and states. Joseph loved gardening (especially roses), and feeding the birds.

He is survived by his wife, Vernita; children, Stephen (Patty), Ann (Rick) Krueger, and Lynne (Roger) Mills; six grandchildren, Chris (Chateen) and Shaun (Bethany) Krueger, Dustin (Fabienne) and Dayna (Nate) Pilsner, Taryn, Aidan, and Ryan Mills, Shay (Greg) Cullen, and Tim Mills; two great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane; and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for masses at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Pediatric Brain Cancer Association, or Alzheimer’s Association.
