John Prusansky

John Prusansky age 87, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Rock Haven Nursing Home.

He was born in Janesville on June 1, 1924, the son of John and Harriet (Langer) Prusansky.

He married Janet Rimmele on Dec. 2, 1950, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. John grew up working on the family farm, and had been employed by Tracy & Son Farms for 9 years and the Rock County Highway Department for over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Independent Foresters. John loved woodworking, gardening, detailing cars and reading Westerns.

John is survived by his wife, Janet Prusansky; 6 children: Francis (Kim) Prusansky of Janesville, Susan (Randy) Downing of Ft. Wayne, IN, Linda (Bradley) Mair of Janesville, Tim (Cathy) Prusansky of Janesville, Deb (John) Barriage of Milton and Kristine (Randy) Kirby of Ft. Wayne, IN; 13 grandchildren: Jonathan (Jennifer) Prusansky, Amy (Ben) Landrum, Elizabeth (Jake) Godfrey, Cory Gwin, Adam (Stephanie) Downing, Kyle (Jessica) Mair, Lynnea Prusansky, Gregory (Holly Carlson) Mair, Jason Mair, Philip Barriage, Justin Kirby, Kira Barriage and Leah Kirby; 6 great grandchildren: Jake, Joely, and Jaxson Godfrey, Bailey and Aubrey Landrum and William Prusansky; 2 sisters, Maryann Reilly and Pat Venable both of Janesville; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Helen Prusansky.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. Stephen J. Umhoefer officiating.

A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 2:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
