John “Jack” William Kohlman

John “Jack” William Kohlman, age 83, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Madison, May 11, 1928 to the late John V. and Christine (Worringer) Kohlman.

Jack enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Florence “Terry” E. Herzog on April 22, 1948. Jack and Terry owned the J&T Supermarket in Sauk City for 30 years until they retired in 1978. Jack previously served on the board of directors of Mid-States Food Dealers Association. After retirement he enjoyed his winters in Florida, gardening, and spending time with family. 

He is survived by his wife Terry, Prairie du Sac; children, Mike (Wanda) Kohlman, Prairie du Sac and Karin (Geoffrey) Woie, Lake Bluff, Il; grandchildren, Michelle (Sean) O’Connor, Prairie du Sac, Kris (Terry Leidig) Kohlman, Prairie du Sac, Kathleen (Jesse) Goodier, Clawson, MI, Janel (Dan) Endres, Prairie du Sac, Ian (Andrea) Woie, Richmond, VA, and Alexander Woie, Washington D.C.; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris (Stan) Berg, Shalimar, FL; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother Paul Kohlman, and a sister Luella Davis.

As per Jack’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held.
