John C. Hansen

MADISON- John C. Hansen, age 92, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

He was born on March 14, 1925, in Portage County, to Alfred and Lillian Hansen. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1942. John furthered his education at MATC in Milwaukee and attended correspondence courses at UW Madison. He was a dedicated employee at The Department of Transportation for 34 years. He married E. Lorraine Halsten on May 16, 1953. To this union they had two sons, Carl and Jim.

John was a charter member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church. His many interests included, traveling, reading, cheering on the Packers, and playing cards.

John is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, Jim; Godchildren, Jean Bower and Gerald Underwood; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Carl; and sisters, Elaine and Helen.

Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 12, 2017, with Pastor Katya Ouchakof presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
