Johanna Giblin

MADISON-Johanna Giblin, age 96, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Oct. 12, 1915, in LaValle, the daughter of George and Bertha Giblin.

Johanna is the last survivor of the Wisconsin Giblin family as she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Josephine in 1988; and brother, Jim in 2007. Her devout Roman Catholic faith has been a comfort to her in her long life. She was a great cook and shared her favorite recipes with friends. She always enjoyed a great laugh.

Johanna is survived by her niece, Jeani (Jack) Cunningham of Arlington Heights, Ill.; her nephew, Rob Giblin (Laura) of Park Ridge, Ill.; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Giblin of Des Plaines, Ill.; great-nieces, JoAnna Cunningham of Madison and Julie (Steve) Petros of Ada, Mich.; great-nephews, James and Kevin Giblin of Park Ridge, Ill.; great-great-nieces, Adilyn and Elena Petros of Ada, Mich.; as well as cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012, with Monsignor Terry Connors presiding. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Reedsburg. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday.
