Joey Votto trades fan for shirt off his back
Joey Votto wanted a fan’s shirt so badly he traded for it off the man’s back Monday.
The Cincinnati Reds first baseman gave the fan, who identified himself on Twitter as Kyle Olding, an autographed jersey for his “Votto for President” T-shirt in the fourth inning at PNC Park.
After stripping off the shirt, a bare chested Olding exchanged a fist bump with Votto.
Votto had been seeking the shirt, which was part of a 2012 Nike promotional campaign, for a while after not keeping any of the shirts for himself, according to The Associated Press.

Since the Toronto native can’t run for president, he signed the jersey “More like Prime Minister.”
While he got the shirt, he and the Red got little else going on Labor Day, falling 5-1 to the Pirates on the road. Votto went 1-for-4 and grounded into a double play as the Reds lost for the ninth time in 12 games.
