Joan Marie Moc

Joan Marie Moc, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born May 3, 1939 in Mazomanie to the late Louis and Marie (Hoven) Parrell. Joan graduated from Mazomanie High School in 1957. On June 29, 1957 she married Don Sutcliffe Sr. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1987. Joan later married James Moc on June 19, 1990. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2007. Joan and Don operated the Friendly Inn in Mazomanie and later owned and operated their own trucking business until Don passed away. Joan worked for Springs Window Fashion in Middleton for 30 years until she retired. She was proud to have graduated in 1998 from MATC with an associates degree in accounting. Joan enjoyed sewing and also had her own business, Joan’s Dolls and Doorstops. She enjoyed participating in many groups, including the Mazomanie Red Hatters, Iron Horse Coronet Band, the United Methodist Women Group, United Methodist Mission Trips, and was an active member of Midland United Methodist Church, where she had served on the church board as treasurer and secretary for many years. Joan recently enjoyed her first turkey hunt last year.

She is survived by her two sons, Don “Moose” (Heather) Sutcliffe and Dean (Cindy) Sutcliffe, both of Mazomanie; three grandchildren, Dean Jr., Colleen, and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jennifer, and Phoenix; a special beagle, Mikey; three 3 step-children, Greg (Brenda) Moc of Evansville, Shari (Mike) Risinger of Lafayette CO, and Derek Moc of Denver CO; two step-great-grandchildren, Colton and Hannah Moc; a brother, Richard (Margie) Parrell; a sister, Betty (Edward) Johnson; and an aunt, Adeline Nichols. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00 am at MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 10235 Hwy KP. Mazomanie. Friends may call from 9:30 until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made in Joan’s name to Midland United Methodist Church or Agrace HospiceCare.
