Jennie Lou McDougal, 78, of Richland Center, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Pine Valley Healthcare.

She was born December 25, 1933 in Richland Center the daughter of Mike and Beulah (Sager) Stoddard. Jennie graduated from Richland Center High School in 1951. She married Keith ‘Mac’ McDougal, Jr. on October 26, 1952. Jennie attended Richland Teachers College. She taught at Paul’s School and substituted at Richland Center High School. Jennie and Mac managed the Richland Country Club for 17 years, and she worked for the Richland Center Police Department for 14 years until her retirement. Jennie was a Girl Scout Leader and delegate for the National Girl Scout Convention in Seattle in 1969. Jennie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and participated in her circle. Jennie was an avid bridge player who won high score on a regular basis. Her favorite bid was three no trump. Jennie and Mac were both Custer Historians and went on many trips to The Custer Battle Field in Montana. Their interest and intense research was so involved, a gorge in the historic area was named ‘McDougal Ravine.’

Jennie is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Tom) Watson of Spring Hill, FL, three grandsons, Tom, Tim, and Trevor, all of Spring Hill, FL, six great-grandchildren, Thomas, Elena, Ty, Emma, Tucker Mac, and Addyson, all of Spring Hill, FL, sister, Ruth Schwerin of Little Rock, AR, brother, Michael (Laura) Stoddard of Lone Rock, nephew, Jim Meeker, and niece Mindy (Mike) Osburn both of Little Rock, AR, other relatives, and many, many friends.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Mac.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Reverend Craig Peach officiating. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
