Jean Marie Younger

Jean Marie Younger, age 90, long time Madison resident, died peacefully at home on July 24, 2017 after a long, active and happy life. She was born July 24, 1927 in Madison to the late Leo C. and Clara (Sargent) Bassett.

Jean is survived by a son, Tom (Elaine) Younger; three grandsons, Greg Mulhern, Christopher (Erin) Mulhern, William Mulhern; brother, James (Caryl) Bassett; brother-in-law, Marshall Filner; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Ike” Younger; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Mulhern; and sister, Gloria Filner.

The family is thankful to those at Aster Assisted Living Facility, Cottage Grove, who took wonderful care of Jean, and to Agrace HospiceCare for their comfort and care in her final days.

A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 27 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
