Janet I. Davis

OREGON-Janet I. Davis, age 76, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at UW Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Margaret Lewis (Vaughan) and Roscoe Dale Lewis.

Janet graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1954. She married Jack Davis on Feb. 3, 1956, in Peoria, Ill. After years of being a wonderful stay-at-home mom, she entered the work force in office administration. Janet loved doing nice things for people and always made birthdays very special. She loved her family very much, and was most blessed when spending time with family and friends. Janet was known as a jokester and always made people laugh.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Davis; three grandchildren, Michael, Luke, and Olivia Davis; sister, Patricia (Charles Jr.) Burns of Spokane, Wash.; nieces, Barbara Cruz of Washington and Kim Burke of Illinois; and nephews, Charles Burns III and Brian Burns, both of Washington, and Aaron and Matt Davis, both of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; uncles, Benjamin, Ivor and William Vaughan; and aunts, Harriet Miller and Credywn McDade.

Memorial services will be held at HILLCREST BIBLE CHURCH, 752 East Netherwood Street, Oregon, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, with Pastor Eric Vander Ploeg presiding. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, Ill., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to UW Clinic Carbone Cancer Center of Madison, Hillcrest Bible Church, or Senior Center of Oregon.
