Janesville man faces charges for 5th OWI

Sheriff's dept.: Man had tentative blood alcohol concentration of 0.34

A 42-year-old Janesville man faces his fifth charge of operating a a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a deputy saw him stumble to his car after buying beer Wednesday, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy found Michael Tracy stumbling around in the parking lot of a gas station in the 6500 block of South U.S. Highway 51 about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to deputies, Tracy attempted to walk over to his car running in the parking lot when the deputy made contact with him.

Deputies said Tracy admitted he was driving to the gas station to get more beer, and also admitted he was intoxicated. Tracy refused field sobriety test, so he was taken to the Rock County Jail where a tests showed Tracy to have a tentative blood alcohol concentration of 0.34.
