Janesville Child Porn Suspect Makes Court Appearance
A Janesville man charged with five counts of possession of child pornography made his initial appearance in Rock County Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Alan Mursa, 28, stood silent during Tuesday’s hearing.
Rock County sheriff’s officials said they found more than 600 files containing child pornography on a hard drive at Mursa’s home.
According to the criminal complaint, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Mursa in October.
A detective said Mursa was trading pornography on the Internet, according to the complaint.
The complaint said that with the help of an Internet service provider, the detective was able to link Mursa’s computer to his home on North Pearl Street.
Investigators searched Mursa’s home on Dec. 1.
The criminal complaint said authorities seized several hard drives at the home along with a laptop computer and other computer devices.
Mursa, who remains jailed, is scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 19 for a preliminary hearing.
