James Robert Pixler

James R. (Houlie) Pixler, age 62 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the Country Keg, 732 Oak Street in Wisconsin Dells. Military rites will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin Post #187 of Wisconsin Dells.

Houlie was born June 2, 1949 in Charlotte, North Carolina the son of James and Dorothy (Williams) Pixler. He served in Vietnam from 1966-1970 and was a former member of the Waterloo V.F.W. After residing in Sun Prairie for several years he found solice in the community of Wisconsin Dells where he spent 17 years building friendships that he deeply cherished.

Houlie is survived by his daughter, Heather (Rocky) Denu; 2 grandsons, Slater and Sawyer; sisters, Marsha Pixler, Patricia Crowley and Wanda (Randy) Brady and brothers, Lee (Tori) Pixler and Curtis (Laurie) Pixler. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy and his step mother, Blanche.
