James M. “Jim” Hamburg, age 72, of Prairie du Sac, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, following an extended illness. He was born on April 14, 1950, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Paul and Betty (Ewing) Hamburg. Following graduation from high school, Jim served in the United States Army and worked as a project superintendent for Kraemer Brother’s for about 30 years. He liked working on classic cars and deer hunting with his son, James and spending time with his brother, Don.

Survivors include his son, James Hamburg and Alesha Martin, his daughter, Talia (Eric) Oberling, 5 grandchildren, his former wife, good friend and mother of his children, Rachel Anderson, 4 siblings, Carol Sorenson, Don (Joy) Hamburg, Peggy (Pat) Ringelstetter, Mary Lou (Donny) Wittmann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Hamburg and Betty Lou Dederich, a sister Joanne McCluskey, 2 brothers, Thomas Dederich and Terry Hamburg.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. with burial in the Richland Center Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Local Veterans Military Memorial Honors Unit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
