James E. “Jim” Mockler

James E. “Jim” Mockler, age 68, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at his home. He was born in Madison on May 5, 1943, the son of the late Dean E. and Lucille (Caflisch) Mockler.

Jim was an avid sportsman, who loved to fish and hunt. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing, and was very talented at basketball, baseball and golf. He was very proud of his home on Lake Wisconsin and was always sure to let people know of where he lived. What truly completed Jim was spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of Lodi; 3 children, Jason (Nicole) and Sara (Janna), both of Minneapolis and Kyle of Phoenix; four grandchildren, Sophia, Drew, Elena and Jacob; two sisters, Patricia Madigan of Lovettsville, VA and Beverly (Charles) Waller of Longmont, CO; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rex and Betty Boss of Prairie du Sac; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike (Nina) Boss of Lodi, Maureen (Mark) Polczynski of Elm Grove , Mary (Russ) Reddemann of Lone Rock and Kitty (Dan) Veerhusen of Lodi; other relatives and his many friends who were there during his illness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Bernard Madigan and Patrick Boss.

A Memorial Service will be held at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
