James E. Diettert

James E. Diettert, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 27, 1931 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Beauford and Dorothy (Vivian) Diettert. James was a lifelong resident of Wisconsin living most of his life in Madison. On April 7, 1962, James married Mariel Dary. For over 30 years, James worked for the Bank of Madison as an Operations Officer. James was an avid sports fan, especially basketball, football and baseball. He also enjoyed card games particularly euchre.

James is survived by his daughter, Sue (Jack) Fowler; grandsons, Andrew and Alec Fowler; sisters-in-law, Florence (David) Goke and Mary Diettert; brother-in-law, Harold L. Dary; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Mariel Diettert; parents, Beauford and Dorothy Diettert; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Velma Dary; siblings, Dallas Diettert and Marge (Tony) Spychalski; and sister-in-law, Darlene Dary.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens following the service.
