James Austin DeBolt

STOUGHTON/OXFORD/MADISON- James Austin DeBolt, age 81, passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. He was born in Madison, Wis., on Dec. 12, 1935, the son of George and Lucille (Nelson) DeBolt. Jim married Georgia Wene on Oct. 29, 1955. Jim worked for Cuna Mutual and Inland Printing. They raised their family in Madison, before building a log home on Wolf Lake in Oxford, Wis., where they resided for 28 years. Jim and Georgia recently returned to their hometown of Stoughton. Jim had an illustrious softball career and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and Wisconsin sports. He is survived by his four children, Sue DeBolt, Diane Brookbank, David (Vicki) DeBolt, and Sally (Paul) Harris; six grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017.
