Jack Egerstaffer

Jacob “Jack” Egerstaffer, age 64, of Janesville, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center, Janesville. He was born in Rice Lake, WI on June 8, 1948, the son of Anthony and Phyllis (Geiger) Egerstaffer.
He graduated from Janesville High School, and from college with a degree in Marketing and Culinary Arts. Jack served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1968 to 1970, and had been a Janesville resident most of his life. He married Nancy Russell on June 21, 2003, and he started Janesville Jacks Hauling Service in 1982, which is currently being run by his son. Jack enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and music. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, a Board Member of Lake Camelot Association and did countless hours in community service.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Egerstaffer; 2 sons, Jack (Heather) Egerstaffer and James Egerstaffer both of Janesville; 2 step children, Jennifer Hopkins of Janesville and Kenneth Russell of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren: Kadi, Alora and Emily; 7 step grandchildren: Bronson, Brianne, Braeden, Landon, Casey, Azzalyn and Kyleigh; 1 great grandchild, Camdin; mother, Phyllis (Leo) Briskey of Janesville; 2 sisters, Carol (Gary) Youtzy and Joyce (Ivan Collins) Danielson of Janesville; brother, Anthony Egerstaffer of Janesville; extended family, friends, especially Paulette Richards. He was preceded in death by his father; and sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Ken Richards.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
