Jack Henriksen

Jack D. Henriksen, age 73, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at BeeHive Homes. He was born on Sept. 29, 1948, in Madison, the son of Alvin and Vesta (Hastings) Henriksen.

Jack graduated from Oregon High School in 1967. He continued his education at UW -Whitewater and MATC receiving his associate degree in Marketing. Jack married Linda (Grefsheim) on March 7, 1970. He worked as a salesman and manager at Sears Roebuck, a car salesman at Symdon Chevrolet and then bought the Oregon Bowl in May of 1994.

Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman, which included trips to Alaska, South Africa and the Arctic Circle. He proudly displayed his overwhelming collection of small and large mounts in his home and at the Oregon Bowl. He was especially proud of his full-mount brown bear shot in Alaska. His most braggable trip was to South Africa in 2013. Jack enjoyed golfing and was a Brewers, Badgers and Packers fan. He was very social and always loved being around people.

Jack is survived by his wife, Linda; sons Chad and Cory; three grandchildren, Daniel, Kailin and Skyler; great-granddaughter due in January; brother, Dale; niece, Dana; mother-in-law, Agnes Grefsheim; brother-in-law, Larry Grefsheim; and sister-in-law, Lianne (Rick) Burnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Vesta; father-in-law, Richard Grefsheim; and brother-in-law, Loren Grefsheim.

Honoring Jack’s wishes, no visitation or funeral will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the OREGON BOWL, 214 Spring St., Oregon, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.
