Ithaca Bulldogs win first state title

The Ithaca Bulldogs fell in a hole early, but they dug themselves out and won the WIAA Division 4 state baseball championship. It’s their first state title in school history.

Rib Lake ran out to a 4-1 lead, but Ithaca answered with 5 runs in the fourth inning and 3 more in the sixth to cruise to a 10-4 win.

Ithaca sophomore pitcher Aaron Huebsch pitched a complete game, striking out 8 Redmen. His brother Jake went 2-4 with and RBI. Lead-off batter Joey Clary went 3-5 and scored 3 runs.

“This is a group of boys that I’ve been blessed to work with. It means a lot to the community, it means a lot to those boys,” said head coach Danny Clary. “They worked really hard.”
