Irene R. Sellmeyer

MADISON- Irene R. Sellmeyer, age 89, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 21, 1922.

Irene married Edgar Sellmeyer on May 11, 1946 in Indianapolis, Ind. Together they lived in Indianapolis before moving to Oshkosh. In 1985, they moved to Madison to be close to family. Irene enjoyed decorating and making things look pretty.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne (Ron) Halverson; son, Robert Sellmeyer; daughter-in-law, Joann Sellmeyer; grandsons, Michael (Melissa) Sellmeyer and Mark Sellmeyer; great-grandson, Blake; and two sisters, Rosemary Stader and Anna Marie Oliger. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; son, Bill; and brother, Jerry Zeph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for all of their love and care and the volunteers who sat vigil with Mom. Also, thank you to Pat and Dick Butler and Ed and Jan Marien for their love and support throughout the years.
