Irene M. Jacowski

Irene M. Jacowski, age 77, of Janesville, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Cedar Crest.

She was born in Bancroft, WI on June 10, 1939, the daughter of Edward and Sophie (Biesik) Ciesielski, Sr. She attended Stevens Point High School, and married Stephen R. Jacowski in Plover on Sept. 29, 1956. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1989. She had worked for Gensler’s Roadhouse and Spirits. Irene was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of Moose. She enjoyed cooking and baking (always from scratch). She gardened to provide fresh vegetables for the family meals. She loved the outdoors, fishing for pan fish from a pier, camping with the family, and even deer hunting with the men. She was a superb euchre player and often “lucky” on the slot machines. She was quick with a smile and always enjoyed a good joke.

She is survived by her 6 children: Cerise Jacowski of Janesville, Carrie (Tom) Marsh of Edgerton, Steve Jacowski of Janesville, Christie (Bradley) Dahl of Janesville, Michael (Anna) Jacowski of Hoffman Estates, IL and Douglas (Tammy) Jacowski of Uden, Netherlands; 9 grandchildren: Caryn (Mike) Jacowski, Steven Jacowski, Cory (Erynn) Jacowski, Seth Jacowski, Samantha Marsh, Janelle Jacowski, David Jacowski, Phillip Jacowski and Cassandra Marsh; 2 step grandchildren, Daniel and Andrea Bundalian; great grandchild, Stella; sister, Gertrude Schulist of Stevens Point; brothers, Robert (Shirley) Ciesielski of Plover and Edward (Beverly) Ciesielski of Bancroft; and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Verona Sankey, Joe Ciesielski, Mary Ziarkowski, Christine Rutta and Florence Ciesielski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Rev. Tom Marr officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, and again on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The Jacowski family would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff at Cedar Crest for their loving care of Irene.
