Ire “Boots” Rees
MADISON-Ire “Boots” Rees, age 82, of Madison, passed away at home on Monday, May 28, 2012. He was born on December 31, 1929, the son of Ire and Hulda (Mahnke) Rees.
Ire married Mary on February 20, 1953 in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Boots retired from the City of Madison Police Department as an investigator in 1985 after 28 years of service. He also worked several part-time jobs driving trucks.
Ire is survived by daughter, Kathy Rees; son, Bill (Teresa) Rees; granddaughter, Ashley (Rees) Lyke (Ben). He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carrol, Dewey, Tom, Donald, Richard, Louis, Peter, and Eugene; and wife, Mary (Sullivan) Rees.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 until time of services on Thursday.
