Ione E Schwedrsky
Ione E. Schwedrsky, age 84, passed away on December 31, 2012. She was born on July 7, 1928 in Mauston to Dean D. and Dorothea (Carter) Robinson. She graduated from Mauston High School in 1946 and was united in marriage to Stephen W. Schwedrsky on October 9, 1948. She was a member of the Edwards-Foye American Legion Post #534 Auxiliary, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and Christ the King Catholic Church in McFarland.
Ione lost her sight in 1955 as a result of Stevens-Johnson Disease. She adapted to her handicap and took good care of her family, cooking, cleaning, and helping Stephen with researching and producing several books on family genealogy.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Cinda) of McFarland, her daughter Jane (Terry) Ruehlow of Madison, grandchildren, Dennis (Karen) Schwedrsky, Brent (Amy) Ruehlow, Rebecca (John) Gray, Kara (Ron) Perkins, Jessica Schwedrsky, great-grandchildren, Rylee, Stephen, Alyssa, Emma, Kynaeda, Avery, Braylon, and Greysyn. She is further survived by her sister, Ardis (Eldon) Schnell of Mauston, stepmother, Antionette Robinson of Mauston, sisters-in-law, Gloria Kieffer of Watertown, and Helen Robinson of Sacramento, California. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003, parents, infant daughter Donna Jean, brother Russell Robinson, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Edward Murphy, and brother-in-law Maurice Kieffer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5306 Main Street, McFarland with Father Stephen Smith officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Lindina Evergreen Cemetery, Mauston. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McFarland American Legion Post #534 Ladies Auxiliary, P. O. Box 96, McFarland, WI 53558 or the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin, 2401 American Lane, Madison, WI 53704.
