Intoxicated driver strikes pedestrian
MADISON, Wis. — A driver who was under the influence hit a pedestrian Saturday night, inflicting significant injuries, according to police.
The incident took place at 10:24 p.m. Saturday on the block of 600 University Avenue, while the pedestrian tried to cross mid-block.
The vehicle continued traveling down University Avenue after striking the pedestrian, and was later located nearby.
The driver was arrested and is facing charges of operating while intoxicated and causing injury, police said.
Police are continuing their investigation.
